Select “FREE LIVE TV” when logging into the app to review the channel options. Select “FREE ON DEMAND” to see the films available to stream for free.

Freevee_logo.png

Free

Freevee is a free streaming service owned by Amazon. It used to be called IMDb TV but was rebranded in the spring of 2022. You can access the free content by going to the Amazon Prime Video website and selecting “Channels.” You don’t need to be an Amazon Prime member to access this content, but Amazon will ask you to provide either your phone number or email address. freevee also produces its own original content.

Firestick, Apple TV, Google Chromecast, Roku, Playstation, iOS, Windows, macOS, Android, Andriod TV, XBOX, LG, Samsung, VIZIO and Sony are compatible.

FAQ’s

No, not if you’re accessing the content via their website. If you’re accessing via the app, freevee can pull your viewing restrictions and PIN settings from your Amazon account.

The content on freevee tends to be less “premium” ie not as popular and not as new. Non-Amazon Prime members can still access the content found on freevee.
The streaming providers typically rotate their TV series and movies onto their platform and then off again. Either their contract to distribute the content runs up or they are simply refreshing with their offerings with alternative content. You can search again down the road and as it may come back or you can research other streaming services to see if one has the series you’re looking for.
Since freevee is free, you can stream from as many devices as you’d like.
vudu.png

Free

VUDU has both free content and content you can purchase. You can access the free content by going to the VUDU website and selecting “Free” in the menu header but you’ll need to create a VUDU account to access the content. To search for content on the app, you can simply hit “Start Browsing” to begin searching. In the app, search for “Free New Release” for movies and “Browse All Free Titles” to find free TV shows. Available free content rotates in and out of the platform.

Firestick, Apple TV, Google Chromecast, Roku, Playstation, iOS, Windows, macOS, Android, Andriod TV, XBOX, LG, Samsung, VIZIO and Sony are compatible.

FAQ’s

No, VUDU is apparently not a sports fan. You’ll need to find an alternative streaming platform to stream sports content.
Free TV content from streaming services like VUDU are typically provided by their parent company, who has created the content, or the streaming service purchased the license to stream the content from other content creators/owners. The newer programming, just like newer movies, is much more expensive to purchase. Plus, there may be restrictive license agreements that conflict with the airing of the content too early. It can be complicated. The subscription streaming services typically get first crack at newer programming. The free streaming providers like VUDU are typically further down the food chain when it comes to the newest tv shows and movies.
There are older films in the free film inventory but they probably wouldn’t fall into the “classic” category. They’d instead be lower budget, “B” class films
Apparently, it was part of a broader effort to prioritize the company’s core strength in retail.
